The rain came and spoilt the party during the first qualifying session of the “6 Horas Nocturnas of Albacete”, this afternoon in Spain. Since the rain came at the middle of the session. The bad weather represents an advantage, at least for the moment, for the two-rider team, as they did not participate to the last qualifying session. At the end of this rather weird qualifying session are found some of the teams with two riders only, such as Maco Moto Racing Team and Suzuki RT Racing Moto Virus. They are ahead of the favourites and the official teams who chose to have their three riders in practice. Team Kawasaki France managed to limit the damage, though. Rider number 2 Erwan Nigon was quite inspired to clock his best lap at the beginning of the session, unlike Guillaume Dietrich on the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, who could not do a hot lap before the rain. During the third session, which took place under the rain, Julien da Costa could not close the gap over Spanish rider Victor Carrasco, more at ease on the Albacete racetrack. Taking into account the results of the three riders, Team Kawasaki France is clearly, ahead of Suzuki Endurance Racing Team and Yamaha Austria Racing Team on the average lap. The Spanish teams took advantage of their local knowledge. With those difficult conditions, YMES Folch Endurance, Suzuki Catala and Bruno Performance are closely behind the favourite teams. Endurance Moto 38 managed to score a good result, ahead of Phase One Endurance and Bolliger Switzerland. ABG Performance also did well, due to Camille Hedelin, their third rider, particularly at ease under the rain. ABG Performance came ahead of more sharpened teams such as Midi Pyrénées MV Agusta Racing Team, Amadeus X-One La Fortezza or Diablo Bolliger 666. As tomorrow weather forecast plans some rain again, the second qualifying session starting at 9:30 am will be decisive for the final starting grid order. It is worth to recall that the teams may choose to have only two riders for a six-hour race, but that riders who do not take part in the qualifying sessions are not allowed to participate to the race. The “6 Horas Nocturnas of Albacete” will start tomorrow Saturday at 6 pm, for an arrival at Midnight.
