World Superbike riders besieged by fans at Salt Lake City Due to the rain that fell on Friday afternoon the programme for the presentation of the seventh round of the Superbike World Championship underwent a change and following the cancellation of the scheduled parade through the streets by bikes and riders, the pre-event press conference was instead held inside the spectacular setting of Salt Lake City’s Utah State Capitol building. In the presence of Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia), James Toseland (Yamaha Sterilgarda), Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare), Troy Corser (BMW Motorrad), Noriyuki Haga (Ducati Xerox), Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda), Roger Lee Hayden (Kawasaki Pedercini) and Jason DiSalvo (Triumph ParkinGo) who briefly commented on the upcoming race at Miller Motorsports Park the microphone was handed over to Greg Miller, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, which owns and operates the circuit; the Governor of the State of Utah Gary R. Herbert, Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports, Michael Waddoups, President of the Utah State Senate and General Jefferson Burton of the Utah National Guard. All the speakers underlined the collaboration between the State of Utah and the Miller Motorsports Park circuit, considered by Paolo Flammini to be one of the best in the USA. Multiple world champion Biaggi, in expressing immense pleasure at being able to race at Miller, also described the US circuit as one of the best in the Championship. The riders then made their way down to the Gateway shopping centre, where they signed hundreds of autographs for the numerous fans who had turned out to see the protagonists of the 2010 Superbike World Championship event.
