RANDY DE PUNIET TO SHORE UP SRC KAWASAKI AT THE BOL D’OR
Randy de Puniet will ride the factory-backed Kawasaki alongside Gregory Leblanc and Fabien Foret at the Bol d’Or, the opening round of the new style 2016-2017 FIM EWC championship to be held in Castellet on 17 and 18 September.
Yet another MotoGP rider is making a foray into the FIM EWC! With Matthieu Lagrive leaving to join Team April Moto Motors Events, Team SRC Kawasaki needed to recruit a strong rider to help it achieve its goal of winning.
So Gilles Stafler’s team, the winner of the 2015 Bol d’Or, has signed up the French for this year’s Bol d’Or. He’ll be at the start of the race – the first of the six rounds of the new-style FIM EWC 2016-2017 season, together with Grégory Leblanc and Fabien Foret.
This will be Randy de Puniet’s first time at the Bol d’Or. He made a noteworthy previous appearance in endurance racing at the 2014 Suzuka 8 Hours, placing second in the saddle of the Yoshimura Suzuki.
