Lights, Cameras and More Cameras Every Angle Covered MONTEREY, Calif., July 15, 2011 “” The thrill of the Red Bull United States Grand Prix is captured by more cameras than used for the Super Bowl and World Cup combined to bring the high-speed action to living rooms in more than 200 countries. Approximately 130 cameras will be capturing the scenes throughout Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca July 22-24 for the World Championship of motorcycle racing. There are cameras mounted onboard each riders’ bikes, corner TV cameras, circuit cameras, roving pit lane cameras and helicopter gyrocam make the director’s job a demanding one as he chooses which to broadcast on the live feed. Spain’s Dorna Sports, who administers and organizes the MotoGP racing, is the television rights holder and producer. Since 2010, all MotoGP races have been produced and distributed in HD format, further highlighting the sport’s color and sheer pace of Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
