Austin, Texas: Scott Redding heads to Texas and the Circuit of the Americas determined to repeat the success of his MotoGP debut in Qatar at this weekend’s Grand Prix of the Americas.
The 21-year-old Briton was seventh in the opening race of the season two weeks ago, achieving his goal of finishing as the first production Honda home, after narrowly beating former MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden to the line.
The goal remains the same this weekend for Scott, who is determined to finish once again as the top production Honda, and first rookie home, in the United States.
Scott Redding:
“The Circuit of the Americas is a track I went well at on the Moto2 bike last year, claiming pole position for the race by over half a second. I also think this track, which requires good handling and stability under braking will suit the characteristics of our Honda RCV1000R very well indeed. The track also is very demanding of tyres, so we will need to focus on this during free practice, as there’s a good chance the hard option rear will be the tyre of choice for the race, rather than the soft option we used last time out in Qatar.”
