From a press release issued by KTM: The Repsol rider went to the Clínica Sagrada Familia to be operated on by Dr. Jaume Perramon Esteve Rabat is now recovering from the operation to repair his collar-bone which began at 11am at the Clínica Sagrada Familia and performed by Dr. Jaume Perramon, a specialist in sports fractures. The Repsol rider had a multi-fragmented fracture on his left collar-bone, this injury had to be reduced and an osteosynthesis with anatomical plate located on it. The operation, whick took approximately one houur, had no complications but the rider will have to keep the arm immobilised for a minimum period of one week, then the stitchhes will be taken out. As soon as the wound has healed and he is not in pain Esteve Rabat can start his rehabilitation. It is estimated that if the injury progresses favourably he can get back on his bike within three weeks, at the MotoGP Test at the Circuito de Jerez. That is exactly where he fell late on Saturday fracturing his left collar-bone. Towards the end of the session and with the temperature falling the Repsol rider was thrown off his KTM coming out of the Sito Pons curve and losing rear tyre adherence. After his first treatment Rabat flew to Barcelona and on the same Saturday night he had his first X-rays, these confirmed the extent of the injury and the need for an operation the following day.
