Results From Monday’s ZARS Series Finale At Brainerd

Brainerd, Minnesota (Sept. 5) – Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held its sixth and final round of the Shootout Championship and Rider Challenge Championships Series, Monday, September 2, at Brainerd International Raceway. The Track Day and School was a sell out with top riders from all across the Midwest and Canada. Riders battled for over $1000 in cash and prizes in the Series presented by Twin Cities Orthopedic. In the Expert GP3/4, Bell Helmet rider Shane Keaveny fought off Cities Edge Motorsport rider Pat Stewart for the win. Ultimately Stewart was crowned the Championship winner. In the Novice ranks, Jonathan Schwartz won the Hole Shot award in the Novice GP 3/4 field. Ultimately Dan Krambeck took the checkered flag with Brad Kreller in 2nd and Jonathan Schwartz in 3rd. Overall, James Michaelson was our points leader and crowned our Series Championship. With another stellar finish, Jon Champ took the victory aboard his Suzuki SV650 and the Series Championship for Expert GP 1/2. Cole Naymark and Alex Zelenski had an incredible battle all season and respectively finished 2nd and 3rd overall for the Championship. The Novice GP 1/2 had fierce battles with Dave Pederson finishing on top. Mike Knoll finished strong in 2nd , ultimately crowning him as Series Champion. Drew Sivertsen rode strong handing him the Hole Shot award and a 3rd place on the podium. ZARS continues to broaden our opportunities with the Rider Challenge for experienced Track Day riders. Seven new riders graduated the Academy to join the ranks of the Rider Challenge Series. In the GP4, Chris Burns took the win aboard his Yamaha YZF-R6 and the Series Championship. In the GP3, a fierce battle ensued and Scott Masterton took the victory and Championship. In the GP1/2, Alex Nelson claimed another win and the Championship. ZARS returns to Brainerd International Raceway and Elkhart Lake’s Road America in 2014 along with the various Advanced Riding Schools across Minnesota.
