Results From The July 17 ZARS Shootout Races At Brainerd International Raceway

Brainerd, MN (July 20) Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held its fourth round of the Shootout Series Championship and Track Day at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota, on July 17, 2011. The event was held on both the Competition Course and the Donnybrooke Road Course with North America’s fastest turn and attendance continues to climb with record numbers. The Shootout Series was presented by Kim and John Anderson of Worldwide Machining and Welding, Inc., and awarded $1000 in cash prizes to all the top finishers in each of the four novice and expert classes. In the Expert GP 1/2, Karl Rehpohl claimed another impressive and dominating win for the season aboard his Suzuki SV650 with Mark Miller in 2nd. After a long battle and a close finish, Scott Stall took the checkered in the Expert GP 3/4 with Nick Campbell finishing respectively in 2nd and Eric Purves in 3rd. In the Novice ranks, Adam Purves claimed another big win in the Novice GP 3/4 series with Jordan Imere in 2nd and Colin Cowles in 3rd. In the Novice GP 1/2, Jake Northrup dominated from start to finish for an incredible win with Steve Johnson landing another podium in 2nd and Jake Hawthorne in 3rd. In an intense sprint from start to finish the Midwest’s most talented Track Day riders battled in the Rider Challenge. In the GP 4, Martin Holte held off Vincent Johnson to take his first win of the season. In the GP 3, rookie Eric Mueller took his first win aboard his Yamaha YZF-R6 with Jake Bauerfield in 2nd and Dean Eriksson in 3rd aboard his Suzuki SV650. The next round of the Shootout and Rider Challenge will be held during the ZARS Track Day Event on September 5 at Brainerd International Raceway.
