Results From The ZARS Shootout Series At Mid-America Motorplex

Pacific Junction, IA Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held its season finale for the Shootout Series and Rider Challenge Championships and Track Day on September 22, at Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa.

Top riders converged on the 2.23-mile road course in the corn fields of Iowa. The Shootout Series provided a lot of excitement as Championships were up for grabs. The series presented by BlownConcepts.org awarded $700 in cash prizes to all the top 3 finishers in each of the four classes.

In the Expert GP 3/4, Scott Stall, who is an Iowa native, dominated the competition from start to finish. In second place with an impressive run to the checkered flag is points leader Kris Skellenger. In our 2012 Series Championship, Skellenger rode away with the title with a sizeable lead in points.

In the Expert GP 1/2, Jon Champ claimed another win in with Geoff Egerman finishing respectively in 2nd. Egerman was able to hold on for our points lead and take the Series Championship by 5 points from Jon Champ.

Aboard his Suzuki SV650, Mike Knoll took his first win of the series from points leader Stephen Johnson, who finished 2nd respectively in the Novice GP 1/2. Johnson edged out Knoll by a few points to win the title for 2012!

In the Novice GP 3/4, Tim Ruzek gave a dominating performance and took his first win of the series, as he edged out points leader, Nathan Massa. As the series comes to a close, Massa once again took the 2012 Series Championship for Novice GP 3/4 with impeccable riding all season.

ZARS continues to broaden our opportunities with the Rider Challenge for experienced Track Day riders. Harry Jensen took his first win of the season in the GP3 with points leader, Eric Mueller, in 2nd place. Mueller once again won the Series Championship with incredible riding all season long. In the GP4, Chris Burns took his first win of the season with an impressive lead on the field aboard his Yamaha YZF R1. Although Harry Jensen moved to the GP3 class for the finale, Jensen was crowned the GP4 Championship for 2012! In GP 1/2, Alex Nelson once again provided an exciting win as he battled James Parnell and Drew Sivertsen for the win and the 2012 Championship!

ZARS will finish off the 2012 season with an Appreciation Weekend and Party at Dakota County Technical College, September 29-30.

ZARS is already planning an exciting 2013 season with several events at Road America, Brainerd International Raceway and Mid America Motorplex.
