Rich Oliver’s Mystery School announces a brand new course, the Two-Day Road Race Camp! This new class will take place on race tracks around the West coast and will feature five-time AMA Champion, Rich Oliver, and his long time Crew Chief, Robert Ward. Looking forward to this new venture, Rich comments, “I am very lucky to have ridden for Randy Mamola, Kenny Roberts, Wayne Rainey, and the Factory Yamaha Superbike and Supersport teams. I learned so many racing and riding skills from these sources that I’m sure that I can bring all of this information to my students in a way they can understand and put to use. I also ran my own team, Team Oliver Yamaha, for many championship winning years and that experience brings a privateer point of view to the class as well. “I want to help the up and coming club racer, the hard core track day rider, and the young gun Pros to become better at what they love to do—race fast and ride hard. I have a step by step curriculum that we are going to follow, and each time we take to the track, we are going to focus on one or two things that were just described to the students in the classroom. Robert Ward is also going to help with chassis and geometry lessons, suspension tuning and setting sag. He will be available all weekend with mechanical help and advice for each student. “We are using a brand new team tent along with our Team Oliver Yamaha 32′ trailer for the 30 student classroom, tech and hospitality area. We will also have our own separate parking area in the paddock for our students to pit nearby the Mystery School classroom tent.” Rich Oliver’s Mystery School will join with track day providers, Take it 2 the Track and Zoom Zoom Track days, using one of the 20 minute on track sessions that are available per hour. This leaves 40 minutes for classroom, bike tuning and suspension adjustments. Sixteen riding and classroom sessions will be featured over the course of the weekend Camp. This all ties into the Mystery School dirt side, where we teach the flat track sliding technique that so many pavement riders need to learn. So now students can come learn to slide on a Yamaha TT-R125, and enroll in the new Two-Day Road Race Camp where they will put those dirt skills and many more pavement skills to use on the race track! Our dates for 2009: Streets of Willow, Rosamond, CA. Weekend of August 8-9, 2009 Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, Pahrump NV. Weekend of September 12-13 Reno Fernley Raceway, Fernley, NV.
