All staff, racers and friends of the Championship Cup Series are mourning the loss of one of their own. Bill Fehrman, Mid-West Race Director for the Championship Cup Series, died Thursday, Aug. 16th, in a Wisconsin hospital. He had been involved in an accident several weeks prior and suffered a severe broken leg. He was unable to recover from complications which occurred during the subsequent surgery and recovery period. He was 68 years old. Bill had been the MW Race Director for about 20 years, a position previously held by Gordon Lunde. Both men have been avid supporters of the Red Flag Fund, an injured racer relief fund, during their tenure. Funeral arrangements have not been released at this time.
