Services are scheduled for Sunday and Monday for Brian “Bo” Bodine, who raced Harley-Davidson 883s and Buells in AMA and NASB competition. Bodine, 39, of Akron, died unexpectedly in Barberton Citizens Hospital in Ohio on Tuesday, according to the Anthony Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio. No cause of death has been determined, the funeral home said. But friends said that Bodine died of complications related to a combination of pneumonia and swine flu. Bodine raced for New Castle Harley-Davidson in Pennsylvania in the AMA Twin Sports class and on a Harley 883 and Buell Lightning in the NASB series, said Bill Bomberger, owner of the dealership. Riding for the dealership, Bodine won races and finished in the top 10 in the championships, Bomberger says. “Bo was a good ol’ friend,” Bomberger says. “We always called him Front Row Bo, because he could always qualify well. “Back in those days, at night, we’d all get together and hang out and eat dinner and drink. We’d spend all day together bumping and banging on the track and then hang out at night. That’s the Harley brotherhood. There’s a camaraderie there.” Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron, Ohio. Prayers are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. mass.
