R.I.P.: Gertrude K. Ulrich

Gertrude K. Ulrich, the mother of racer, race team owner and Roadracing World founder John D. Ulrich, and grandmother of AMA Pro Superbike racer and race team owner Chris Ulrich, died Tuesday night from complications related to surgery to repair a compound break of her right ankle, suffered in September. She was 93 years old. She is survived by daughters Kathy DeNicola and Linda Coleman; sons John, Bob and Tom Ulrich; grandchildren Damian, Chris, Natalie, Tim, David and Becky Ulrich; Hayley (Ulrich) Zeidman; Laura (Coleman) Patel; and Michelle DeNicola. Great-grandchildren include Cain, Van and Ava Ulrich; Jake Zeidman; and Sydney and Kali Patel. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Ulrich, her brothers George and Bill Thoma, and her sister Dorothy Bucklen. Funeral services are pending.
