Celtic Racing’s James Rispoli won every race he entered on Sunday of a WERA Regional weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.

Rispoli was getting ready for the upcoming AMA Pro National scheduled for Barber by competing in the club event, which was officially labeled as a WERA Pirelli Sportsman Regional Presented By Marietta Motorsports.

But while Rispoli won four races, 15-year-old Red Bull MotoGP Rookie racer Joe Roberts turned the fastest lap of the weekend, a 1:30.542 on a Team Hammer Honda CBR600RR. Rispoli turned a second-fastest 1:30.679 on his National Guard Suzuki GSX-R600 and Florida star Robert McLendon III was third-fastest with a lap at 1:30.930 on a D&D Cycles-sponsored Triumph 675.

Rispoli won the C Superbike Expert race, beating Roberts by 0.166-second despite Roberts turning his fastest lap in the race. AMA Pro Corey Alexander was well back in third aboard his National Guard Suzuki GSX-R600.

Rispoli then won the Formula One Expert race, using his GSX-R600 to beat Justin Neyra and his ZX-10R by 2.263 seconds with Alexander third on his GSX-R600, 2.429 seconds behind Rispoli. Roberts didn’t enter the race.

Rispoli also won the B Superbike Expert race, beating Roberts by an even closer 0.016-second, with Alexander again third, three seconds back. In this race, fourth-place-finisher McLendon turned his best lap, the third-fastest overall during the weekend.

Rispoli’s final victory of the weekend came in the A Superbike race, which he won by 3.472 seconds over Bobby Stoker and his GSX-R1000. Alexander was once again third, 7.352 seconds behind Rispoli, and Roberts didn’t enter.

Roberts won the C Superstock Expert race by 0.356-second over Alexander, the pair trading the lead multiple times on the last lap. David Brown was third. Rispoli, having completed his testing program, didn’t run the race.

Alexander won the B Superstock Expert race, with Joseph Giannotto second on a CBR600RR. Californian Roberts had to leave for the airport and didn’t grid up for the race.

Roberts hopes to get a license and make his AMA Pro debut at Barber in about five weeks, a few days after his 16th birthday.
