ELKHART LAKE, Wis., Nov. 22, 2013 – Road America officials announced today the debut of its new website, www.roadamerica.com, which is now mobile optimized, making navigation on smart phones and tablets easier than ever. “We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the guest experience at Road America,” said track president and general manager George Bruggenthies. “Our goal was to develop a brand new website from the ground up, placing high priority on ease of navigation and a better overall experience for our fans. This new design makes it easier to find event information, buy tickets and share the experience, all on one site. The site’s responsive technology is important in the ever-changing marketplace where fans are using their smartphones and tablets for communication and purchase power more than ever before. Our new platform accommodates all web devices in one user-friendly experience.” Road America’s new website highlights ticket and event information available before, during and after race weekends, including camping information, promotions, gate policies, race day activities, the latest news and much more. Developed by The Medium Creative Group in Costa Mesa, Calif., and nearly a year in the making, the new mobile-optimized website offers increased functionality, clear navigation menus and large buttons to quickly access major subsections of the website. “In a world where smartphones and tablets are setting new records with usage, we had to modify our communication style to meet our guests’ needs,” said John Ewert, communications director at Road America. “This new website satisfies a majority of those needs. We have listened to our guests and modified the new website accordingly while staying aligned with feedback from season ticket holders as well. Now, our guests can easily access our website on their smart phones and tablets while at home or at the track. All of the necessary information, including event schedules, ticket information, camping guidelines, gate policies, schools and other events, is right at the guests’ fingertips. It’s a work in progress effort, and more changes and additions will be made, such as new additions to our history pages, live timing and scoring and new promotions tying in social media, but this is a huge step in the right direction.” Road America’s first race weekend next year will be May 16-18, when it hosts its Spring Vintage Weekend. Two-wheeled action takes center stage when the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Racing Subway SuperBike Doubleheader hits the track on May 30 through June 1. One week later, June 6-8, vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will be on track during the AHRMA Vintage Motorcycle Classic, followed by the WeatherTech® Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints® from June 12-15 – Road America’s longest running annual sports car event. The NASCAR Nationwide Series, Pirelli World Challenge Series, and SCCA Trans-Am Series roll into Road America on June 19-21, bringing intense door-to-door racing action to the nation’s most intimidating road course. On June 22, OPTIMA Batteries will hold one of its OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational qualifying events at Road America, affectionately known as the OPTIMA FACEOFF. The event includes autocross, road course, braking and acceleration challenges, plus a style and design competition and road rally. A mid-summer classic, The HAWK with Brian Redman, takes place July 17-20, and has quickly grown to become one of the largest vintage racing events in the country. Ford’s Mustang will receive top honors as the featured marque during The HAWK in celebration of the Mustang’s 50th Anniversary. A Historic CAN-AM race with an impressive field of cars is also expected to gather in celebration of CAN-AM’s 48th Anniversary, plus the Nationwide Insurance Concours d’Elegance on Friday and Saturday night in downtown Elkhart Lake round out the festivities to make the 2014 edition of The HAWK with Brian Redman a can’t miss spectacle for any racing enthusiast. August 7-10, the newly formed IMSA Continental Sports Car Challenge and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship takes over Road America’s 4-mile circuit for what will be one of the most incredible weekends of sports car racing in the world.
