TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (July 25, 2008) “” Two-wheeled enthusiasts will have the best of two worlds this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park, as both motorcycle road racing and Supermoto competition are on tap. This weekend is the fourth round of this year’s seven-race Honda Presents the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains series. The series, developed by Miller Motorsports Park, organized by the Utah Sportbike Association (USBA) and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), was created to encourage and develop fun and competitive road racing at the club and regional levels. Riders will be competing on the East Course on Saturday and Sunday in 18 different classes for contingency money (provided by sponsors for using their products in some classes), trophies and points toward the series’ class championship. Joining in the fun will be the western region of the United States Grand Prix Racers Union (USGPRU), the officially recognized 125cc and 250cc Grand Prix National Championships. The USGPRU provides a unique opportunity for young riders by providing extended-length grand prix racing, with timed qualifying and superb contingency and sponsor support. The race and practice formats are designed to prepare riders fro the experience of racing at the highest level. These small machines are guaranteed to put on a great show, and will showcase young talent that you will see on professional racing grids in the years to come. On Saturday, the fourth round of the 2008 Plaza Cycle Utah Supermoto Championship will take place. Supermoto is the fastest-growing form of motorcycle sport in America, a hybrid that combines pavement road racing with motocross. The riders compete on modified motocross bikes with slick tires on Miller Motorsports Park’s state-of-the-art Supermoto circuit that utilizes the 0.9-mile Miller Kart Track with two dirt motocross sections. Riders will be competing in 13 classes for trophies and championship points. Tickets for the weekend are priced at only $5 per day. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. The Miller Kart Track’s auxiliary paddock track will be open for concession rentals on Saturday, with the main circuit available on Sunday. Also, the Miller Motorsports Park Club House will be open to the public all weekend and will serve Sunday brunch from 10:30 am 2:30 pm.
