DANIEL COSTILLA AND GABRIEL HERNANDEZ III ENLISTED AS MOTOAMERICA KTM RC 390 CUP WILD CARD RIDERS BY ROADRACING WORLD WILD CARDS TEAM
Los Angeles, CA (June 24, 2016) – Southern Californians Daniel Costilla and Gabriel Hernandez III (a.k.a. “G3”) have been recruited as MotoAmerica KTM RC 390 Cup wild card riders by the Roadracing World Wild Cards team. Costilla is set to race during the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship of Utah at Utah Motorsports Campus on June 23-25, 2016, with Ed Sorbo of Lindemann Engineering serving as his crew chief and coach. Hernandez III will race during the Honda Superbike Showdown of California at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on July 8-10, 2016. His father, Gabriel Hernandez, Sr., will take on crew chief and coach duties.
“I would like to say thank you to the Roadracing World Wild Cards team for giving me this opportunity to come here [to Utah] and race in front of the American fans,” says Costilla. “I would also like to say thank you to Fastrack Riders for their financial support for this weekend, as well as express gratitude to RoadracingWorld.com, Arai Americas, and Cycle Gear. And thank you to all my fans for your ongoing support.”
Hernandez III says, “I’d like to thank Roadracing World and the Ulrich family for this opportunity. I have been dreaming of riding this track ever since I was a kid.”
Roadracing World’s Chris Ulrich, says, “The goal of the Roadracing World Wild Cards program is to introduce talented kids–including kids who have international road racing experience–to the MotoAmerica series and show them that there is a viable series to develop careers here on U.S. tracks. We’ve already seen wild card rides lead to further opportunities in the U.S. We did this last year with Brandon Paasch and he did quite well, and now he’s got a full-time ride with AXcess Racing in the KTM RC 390 Cup series.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing how Daniel does here at Utah Motorsports Campus and how Gabriel does at Laguna Seca.”
