GREAT DANE TAKES ON THE BEST OF BRITISH AS HARMS JOINS MCE BSB GRID Former World Supersport front-runner Robbin Harms will join the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship full-time this season, as the Dane confirms his place on the grid with the Doodson Motorsport Honda team. Harms joined the Yorkshire-based team for the final five rounds of last year’s Championship season and instantly impressed with top ten finishes on his Superbike debut. The team, who return with the backing of Doodson for a sixth season, are now destined to have one of their strongest campaigns to date with the talented Dane, who has more than seven years of racing experience in the Grand Prix and World Supersport classes. Harms said: “I joined the Championship towards the end of last year and it is a very strong field, but I felt positive straight away despite it being my first time on a Superbike. I am thrilled to race in the Championship as it is what I have wanted to do for many years. We want to be improving and fighting with the front riders; I like the tough competition as it means the racing is more exciting for me and it makes it a big achievement when you get good results. I definitely want to race in BSB for a couple of seasons and I want to be fighting for the victories as that is what racing is about.” Team owner Tom Tunstall concluded: “Robbin did a fantastic job last season considering he had never ridden a Superbike before. Having secured backing from specialist insurer Doodson Broking Group for a sixth successive season – the Yorkshire based TTR outfit turned around a challenging year in 2012 with Danish rider Harms joining the squad for the final five races and claiming top ten results during an impressive superbike debut. The talented Dane who has more than seven years experience racing in GP and World Supersport classes has yet to sample the delights of some of the UK’s unique tracks and is keen build his superbike experience with a 2013 Honda CBR1000RR at his disposal. Harms explained: “This year is a whole new chapter for my racing career. BSB is where I want to race most of all so I intend to get the best out of it. I enjoyed very much to work with Tom Tunstall and the Doodson Motorsport team last season and are sure of that they capable of building a competitive bike for this season.
