Robertino Pietri led the Unlimited Grand Prix race at Palm Beach International Raceway from start to finish. At the drop of the green flag, Pietri, who was gridded on the front row, maneuvered the Prieto Performance sponsored GSX-R1000 around stalled pole sitter, Barrett Long to take the lead he would not relinquish. Behind him, Gustavo Sanchez, Brad Graham, and Jeff Lampe jockeyed for position. Sanchez crashed on the back straight before the halfway mark and ZX-10 mounted Jeff Lampe moved up and around Graham’s R6, but couldn’t catch the leader. Pietri took the checkered flag without challenge and crossed the start finish line on the rear wheel with an eight second lead. Lampe, Graham, Greg Gorman, and Chris Sullivan rounded off the top five. On the podium, Pietri exclaimed, “It’s always great to show up here and ride. And my family can come and my friends can come and it’s nice to be here racing.” He further exclaimed, “This weekend, I rode a bunch of bikes. I also rode a Ducati in the Twins class that was Moto Course Performance’s. I want to thank Chris Boy too for letting me do some laps on that monster.” He also thanked the entire Prieto Performance crew and Eric Gray of GMD Computrack for tuning all the bikes he rode that weekend. Pietri also won the Expert GTU race run under the lights on Sunday night. He came back out for the Memorial Day races on Monday to take first place in the Unlimited Supersport, and Supertwins races, earning the title of winningest racer of the weekend. Graham, who was recovering from a recently broken hand, won the Expert Middleweight Grand Prix race just moments before running in the Unlimited Grand Prix on his VRC Racing sponsored R6. He commented, “It was a tough day. All the great competition out here made me go faster.” Kissimmee Motorsports sponsored Lampe added, “Graham ran a great race out there. I applaud him for coming out here on the 600 and racing with use. Cause, you never know what goes on. My hat’s off to Pietri. He did a great job out here, coming out and supporting CCS, and it’s good to have guys like him show up to race with us and make us better riders.” UNLIMITED GRAND PRIX RESULTS: 1. Robertino Pietri (Suz GSX-R1000); 2. Jeff Lampe (Kaw ZX-10R); 3. Brad Graham (Yam YZF-R6); 4. Greg Gorman (Kaw ZX-10R); 5. Christopher Sullivan (Suz GSX-R1000); 6. Rudolf Von Lignau (Duc 1098); 7.
