Rockstar Makita Suzuki Will Appeal Mladin Disqualification

BREA, Calif. The Rockstar Makita Suzuki team announced today that they will appeal the penalty imposed by AMA Pro Racing against six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin. AMA Pro Racing disqualified Mladin’s Superbike race victories from the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) event August 16 and 17, 2008. According to AMA Pro Racing, the crankshaft in Mladin’s race-winning GSX-R1000 was found to be in non-compliance with the 2008 AMA Superbike Championship Rulebook, following post-race technical inspections.
