Sept. 23 event is AIMExpo official after-party

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame welcomes ROK, powered by the AMA, as sponsor of the official American International Motorcycle Expo Saturday night after-party — AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Fall Bike Night — at the American Motorcyclist Association campus on Sept. 23.

The AMA and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame are just 20 minutes from the Greater Columbus Convention Center, where the AIMExpo and the 2017 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Harley-Davidson, will be held.

“Kawasaki has a long and rich history in the American motorcycle market and the Riders of Kawasaki program shares the AMA’s passion for riding,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey.

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Night features a Hall of Fame museum open house — where the bikes and achievement of hundreds of Hall of Famers are enshrined — a Thunder Roads Ride-In Bike Show, music by The Brian Panke Band, stunt shows by the Wheelie Wizzard, a trials demonstration by Trials Inc., the Paddy Wagon food truck, giveaways and many other activities. The event hours are 6-10 p.m.

A new exhibit titled “Six Days — U.S. International Six Days Enduro Teams and the Chase for the World Trophy” will open celebrating the history of U.S. competition at the FIM ISDE, capped off by the 2016 title in the FIM World Trophy division.

The Six Days exhibit will feature the four bikes ridden by the 2016 ISDE champions, along with Kurt Caselli’s 2013 ISDE bike, as well as Hall of Famer Dick Burleson’s Husqvarna and Hall of Famer Jeff Fredette’s Kawasaki.

As the official Saturday night after-party of the AIMExpo, the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Night also will feature a Fun Run motorcycle ride led by AMA staff members from the Greater Columbus Convention Center area to the AMA campus.

The ride stages at 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Columbus Vet Center, 30 Spruce St., Columbus, Ohio — across from the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The ride ends at the AMA campus, 13515 Yarmouth Drive, Pickerington, Ohio.

Onsite registration will be available the day of the ride for $20. The ride has a 75-rider limit, so those interested are encouraged to pre-register for the event before all the spots are full. Visit https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/e… to reserve your spot.
