Attack Kawasaki’s Chaz Davies and Steve Rapp had a rough time on the second morning of Pirelli’s two-day tire test at Daytona International Speedway. Davies suffered a minor lowside crash on his ZX-6R Formula Xtreme bike just before lunchtime. “I was offline slightly,” Davies told Roadracingworld.com. “I missed a gearshift going in and got offline. It must have been dirty out there because the front folded real easy.” Davies’ bike suffered only minor damage, and he rode it back in. Davies was uninjured except for aggravating the little finger on his right hand, which he said he broke in the MotoGP race at Valencia. Moments later, Rapp’s 2007 Formula Xtreme ZX-6R blew its engine coming past the start/finish line, causing a red flag. Rapp did not crash, and the track was not affected by any fluids from Rapp’s machine.
