Brainerd, MN – The Central Roadracing Association kicks off the fourth round of racing at Brainerd International Raceway this weekend, August 22-24, 2008.
Racers from across the Midwest and as far as Canada and Colorado will converge at BIR for an exciting weekend of racing. The racing will be fierce as racers are on the hunt for top finishes and big contingency awards. The weekend is stacked with Supersport, Superbike and Grand Prix sprints along with the Turtle and the Hare and the Team Challenge/Solo Endurance races.
Big gun, Robert Jensen, is looking to add more wins to an already impressive season at BIR.
In the points chase, overall expert points leader, Brad Zajic, is hoping to increase his lead over the points runner up, Jessica Zalusky. This weekend could decide the Championship for the experts.
In the novice ranks, John Wolff leads the overall novice points followed by Eric Purves and Scotty Riley.
This coming weekend will be the last scheduled weekend for the long course at BIR for this CRA season. The long course consists of 10 turns and three miles in length. This Fall CRA will debut as the first motorcycle roadrace on September 19-21, on BIR¢s new short course, which is 13 turns and 2.5 mile in length.
