RUN1RACING INVITES FANS TO DONATE USED CELL PHONES TO HELP U.S. TROOPS AND THEIR FAMILIES!!! When you are at the Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 200 next weekend, be sure to bring your old or unused cell phones to donate for the benefit of US soldiers and their families. The Run1Racing team is collecting phones and donations as part of their partnership with Liberty Tax Service and Cell Phones For Soldiers. Cell phones, with attached batteries, can be deposited in a special drop box at the teams’ garage in the race paddock. Upon completing plastic mailer envelopes, donations are tax deductible and enable Cell Phones for Soldiers to distribute complimentary calling cards to deployed troops and their families to stay connected. ABOUT Cell Phones for Soldiers: Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded in 2004 by brother and sister Robbie and Brittany Berquist, ages 12 and 13 at the time. To date they have provided more than 100 million minutes of free calling cards thanks to a national network of individual and corporate supporters donating phones and money. The program serves the 200,000+ U.S. troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and the challenges they face in communicating with loved ones back home. CPFS collects old cell phones and sends them to recycling centers where recyclable materials are stripped and hazardous materials and are responsibly discarded. About Liberty Tax Service and Run1Racing Motorsports: Liberty Tax Service has been the National Premier Partner for Cell Phones for Soldiers since its inception. With over 3000 offices throughout the US and Canada, Liberty Tax Service provides fast, accurate tax preparation services with a money back guarantee. Liberty Tax Franchisee, Debbie McDaniel, teamed with Run1 Racing earlier this year for a strategic awareness and promotional partnership. Ms. McDaniel is quoted as saying, “With riders Skip Salenius (#63) competing in the American Superbike class, Antoine Richards (#45) and Miles Thornton (#72) in Super Sport class and Joey Pascarella (#825) running in the Daytona 200, the entire Run1 Racing team is committed to promoting this most meaningful non-profit organization. In addition, team owner, Monty Spears, himself an Army veteran, joined the team and Liberty Tax Service as they led the Chick Fil A Bowl Parade for Cell Phones for Soldiers on New Year’s Eve for the 7th straight year!” “I’ve lived all three lives; a Soldier, a contractor, and a civilian. Last year Debbie McDaniel introduced me and therefor my company, Run 1 Racing Motorsports, to Cell Phone’s For Soldiers. This initiative has one clear objective. To keep Soldiers connected to what is most important…family. My warriors no longer carry weapons, but they fight start to finish, apex to apex, on two wheeled missiles. Our company is about family; about the family built in the racing community, about the family built through fans, about family built through giving back to those that risk it all for our freedom and way of life.” – Monty Spears, President Run 1 Racing Motorsports
