Multi-time Colombian National Champion and multi-time CCS Regional and National Champion Santiago Villa will return to action in a Colombian National Championship event held at Autodromo Tocancipa in Bogota, Colombia this coming weekend, August 11-12. Villa is making his return from a brutal fracture of his femur and pelvis, suffered when he highsided in February during a CCS event at Homestead-Miami Speedway while racing with Prieto Performance. Villa has been out of action for six months and now is returning to the track with a new team and a new sponsor; he will be part of Team Green Kawasaki, sponsored by Monster Colombia. This weekend Villa will race in Superbike 1000cc, Supersport 600cc and Ninja Cup 250cc, a new class created to build new riders. “It’s an honor to race with Team Green Kawasaki in my country. These last six months have been hell for me, being out of racing,” said Villa. “Racing is what I love and what I’m passionate about, nothing else matters for me right now. So returning to the racetrack is a dream come true, and I would really like to thank Kawasaki Colombia and Monster Colombia, and also my long-time sponsors Addict By Bosi and Tacama Motul. I’ll try to do the best I can and hope we can win some Championships together.”
