Performance Riding Experience (PRE) will hold a soft-barrier fund-raiser in conjunction with the 501(3)(c) not-for-profit Roadracing World Action Fund (RWAF) on this coming Saturday, June 16th, during a three-day (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) track-day event on the south course at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). Proceeds will be used to help fund the purchase and deployment of additional Airfence soft barriers at racetracks where PRE and other track-day and racing organizations run events.

The PRE fund raiser held on Saturday in the South Course paddock at VIR will start at 6:30 p.m. with a BBQ dinner followed by live and silent auctions as well as drawings for prizes.

More event information is available online at ridepre.com and via e-mail at [email protected].

The latest rider to benefit from PRE’s deployment of Airfence soft barriers at VIR was Freddie Sorbo, who crashed her Suzuki GSX-R750 during a PRE event in May 2018 at the same part of the course where Mike Copoulos fell in 2017, both hitting soft barriers in front of a tire-wall/steel-barrier/dirt-embankment combination that had seriously injured riders in the past. Sorbo’s experience is detailed in the upcoming August issue of Roadracing World & Motorcycle Technology magazine, which subsidizes the 501(3)(c) Roadracing World Action Fund.
