Hayden Schultz was the fastest rider to the opening MotoAmerica KTM RC390 Cup practice Friday at Barber Motorsports Park. Schultz lapped the 2.3-mile road course in 1:44.985 on his Dunlop-shod KTM RC390 Cup racebike.
The session marked the road racing debut of Jarod Vanderkooi, a 17-year-old from Mt. Gilead, Ohio, who won the 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track GNC2 Twins Championship. Vanderkooi is currently racing as a rookie in the AMA Pro Flat Track GNC1 Championship on a Kawasaki.
