SCminiGP has scheduled a total of 10 youth introductory courses for the 2007 year. In 2006 the organization hosted just five dates which introduced the sport of miniGP to over 20 youths under the age of 10 years old. This year they are hoping to open the doors to more than 90 youth riders. The intro course program put together by SCminiGP is designed to help get new youth riders into the sport of youth road racing (minigp). The course is a 2 hour training session where instructors teach youth how to ride a pocketbike covering the controls of the bike, and slowly through drills, helping children learn to ride. The program only allows three kids to a class with two instructors to guide them through the process and only runs three times a day. If you’re wondering how you can get your child into miniGP you’ll be glad to know SCminiGP even provides the bikes complements of Omicron Motors/Blata USA. This season SCminiGP will use the new Blata 2.6 pocketbike. Blata USA also sponsor’s the Blata CUP race class which they feel will help introduce more youth into road racing. SCminiGP knows this is a good way for interested prospects to test drive the program. This course allows family’s a chance to see how SCminiGP works with the youth environment and how dedicated they are to helping youth succeed. SCminiGP also plans to offer a camp for Novice riders this summer as an extension of their introductory program.
