Scott Greenwood will be competing this upcoming weekend, Dec. 18-19, 2010 in Uruguay. Scott’s longtime sponsor, Argo Cycles, put together a deal that will see Scott compete aboard a Honda CBR1000RR in the Superbike Division. After a short initial shakedown session on Tuesday, Dec. 14, the team is making final preparations to the motorcycle. On-track activity for the event begins on Friday, December 17. Practice and qualifying happen on Saturday, and final events are on Sunday.

Scott has this to say about the event: “This was a very rare opportunity that I could not resist. Back in October, the owner of Argo Cycles asked if I would be interested in racing this event in his home country of Uruguay. We put together a shipment of parts to use on the Honda CBR1000RR that was donated to the race effort. Miguel Orpi, a long-time customer and friend of Argo’s has assembled a nice racebike for me to use, and we did a very short test on the bike this past Tuesday during an open track day. The El Pinar Autodromo is a relativity short racetrack but has a pretty fast back straightaway. It should be exciting to see how the race turns out as I have no idea of the competition or equipment levels of the other riders/teams. I am told National Championship riders from Argentina, Brazil and also racers from Uruguay will be in attendance. It looks to be an exciting event for the fans of Superbike Racing in Uruguay.”
