Scottish rider Jimmy Storrar has confirmed that he will make his Isle of Man TT races debut in 2011. The Perth born racer will compete for Mick Charnock’s ‘TC Racing Honda/DP Coldplaning’ outfit in all classes at the 2011 meeting. The team have secured high spec 600cc and 1000cc Honda’s for their Isle of Man campaign. Storrar, 24, enjoyed recent success in the Macau Grand Prix finishing 7th, one place behind John McGuinness and ahead of a number of respected TT stars including Cameron Donald, James McBride and Keith Amor. A number of breakdowns clouded his 2010 BSB Superstock campaign, but he recorded a 4th place at Cadwell Park and top 10 finishes at Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Croft and Knockhill as well as qualifying on the front row four times during the season, eventually finishing 14th overall in the championship. Storrar began his racing career in 2004, in the 125cc Scottish championship before graduating to the MRO Supersport Championship in 2005, where he finished 3rd. He moved up to the National Superstock Cup in 2006, finishing 5th overall and has competed in the National Superstock Championship since 2007, recording his highest overall place of 10th in 2008. TC Racing Honda/DP Coldplaning Team Boss Mick Charnock competed in the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix before running his own team in 2005. His team has backed both Cameron Donald and David Johnson as newcomers, in 2005 and 2010 respectively. He said: “We enjoy working with talented newcomers and like to show them the ropes on the Isle of Man. Jimmy is a class rider and I’m sure he’ll have a long and successful career at the TT Races.” Jimmy Storrar commented: “I’m really pleased to have finally sorted out the right team to race for at the TT. I’ve looked at doing it for a couple of years but wanted to make sure that everything was right and I can’t wait to get out there.” “Everyone in the race organisation has been really helpful so far and I’m looking forward to learning the course with the Rider Liaison officers Milky Quayle and Johnny Barton. I realise that I’ve got a lot to learn about the course and I know that their experience will really help me.”
