FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: I had tried to show the pictures to one of the clean-up crew guys at the race when he was on the bridge to make sure they were looking in the right place on the track but he would not listen or look at the pictures. I then went down by the flag man in the corner and showed him the pictures. He checked the track where I had shown him where they went with the bikes and said it was clean. I was concerned for the safety of the riders. Maybe they have some controversy with how the riders were able to get their spots back at the front of the race? I was at the race to watch my nephew #94 Jake Cunningham in the Red Bull Rookies race. Sunday’s Red Bull Rookie win at Mid-Ohio was not the best thing #69 Hayden Gillim did last weekend. During Saturday’s qualifying after he saw that he had fast time by more than a second he slowed on the track and the announcer went crazy thinking he had something go wrong with his bike. That was not the case. Gillim slowed to find a fellow Red Bull Rookie #94 Jake Cunningham to help him find a better line around the track. Gillim in a true act of sportsmanship and friendship developed through AMA dirt bike and Red Bull Rookie racing gave up valuable track time to help another rider who was struggling to find his grove. Hayden, congratulation on your win and thank you for being the person you are and helping another. Larry Janssen Little Chute, Wisconsin
