Sepang Extends Deal With Dorna, Will Host MotoGP Through 2010

The agreement between MotoGP World Championship commercial rights-holders Dorna Sports and the Sepang International Circuit has been extended, meaning the circuit will host MotoGP until at least 2010. In an official ceremony on Saturday afternoon at the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Dorna’s CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and Sepang International Circuit CEO Razlan Razali signed the deal extending the agreement for two more years. In 2009 the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be held at Sepang from October 23rd to 25th. Mr. Razali commented, ‘MotoGP has been coming to Malaysia for seventeen years and to Sepang since 1999. We are delighted to sign this new agreement with Dorna as the Grand Prix is a highly important event on the Malaysian sporting calendar. We always warmly welcome MotoGP to Sepang whether it is for testing or for the GP itself and we are proud that so many riders enjoy racing here.’
