Services for former racer and former Fastrack Riders Operations Manager Dave Shaverdi have been scheduled for Saturday, August 8th at 9:30 a.m. and will be held at Harvest Church, located at 6115 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504.
Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Olivewood Memorial Park, at 3300 Central Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506.
In an e-mail announcing the services, former Fastrack Riders owner David Pyles wrote, “It would be cool if a lot of you could ride your bikes to the service and burial. Unfortunately and sadly, I will not be able to attend. I won’t bore you with the reasons why but I have already explained it to Lorena. I will be there with you in spirit!”
Shaverdi, age 43, died last Wednesday at a hospice on the Mayo Clinic campus near Phoenix, Arizona, where he had been treated for liver and stomach cancer discovered last February. He married his girlfriend Lorena Vizcarra on Saturday, July 25th. He is survived by Lorena, and by his four sons from a previous marriage, Valentino, Joseph, David and Giovanni.
Shaverdi was involved in the organization and operation of the televised GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented by Yamaha event held at Auto Club Speedway in conjunction with WERA West and Fastrack Riders, in April of last year. He was also involved in running an annual fund-raiser for the Roadracing World Action Fund, held with Fastrack Riders on Thanksgiving weekend each year.
May he rest in peace.
