Services have been scheduled for former AFM and AMA racer Tom “Moose” Rienecker at St. Francis Church in Sonoma, California on Tuesday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m.

Rienecker, age 63, died in a street crash last Saturday, February 10th, when a 20-year-old Toyota Highlander SUV driver failed to yield right of way and made a left turn directly in front of him, according to a California Highway Patrol accident report. Rienecker, who was riding his 1981 BMW streetbike, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rienecker campaigned a variety of motorcycles starting in the 1970s, including a two-stroke four-cylinder Yamaha TZ750 he raced in AMA Formula One at Sear Point, his local track, in the 1980s. According to friends, he later raced classic bikes, and most recently would spectate at AFM club events.
