Successful ‘Festival of Speed’ for Crescent and Rossetts
Crescent Motorcycles and its World Superbike team Voltcom Crescent Suzuki enjoyed a thoroughly rewarding few days at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed as a host of world-class talent and motorsport heavyweights congregated in West Sussex to celebrate the best that two and four wheel motorsport has to offer.
The largest and most successful year in the event’s history so-far, 2014’s Festival attracted 200,000 visitors over the four-days. Voltcom Crescent Suzuki’s Alex Lowes was amongst the stars bringing the thrill of the race track to the tranquil English countryside, taking to the famous 1.87km hillclimb on-board his Suzuki GSX-R1000 race replica. Lowes delighted the crowds on both Friday and Saturday with two outings each day alongside current WSBK rivals Chaz Davies, Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea, with motorcycling greats Giacomo Agostini, Wayne Gardner, Freddie Spencer and the legendary John Surtees showing the young stars that they still know how to ride!
The team’s commercial vehicle partner Rossetts Commercials, and the retail arm of Crescent Motorcycles, were on hand to exhibit a selection of new bikes and Mercedes Benz vehicles available to the public. Promoting the cross-partnership in successful style against the backdrop of Lord March’s cricket pitch, the location provided fans the perfect opportunity to meet British racer Lowes while enjoying a chilled beverage from one of the Coolertech refrigerator vans also on display!
Motorcycles and staff from across Crescent’s three South-Coast dealerships took part in the event for the full duration of the four-day extravaganza, with a competition to win items from the official World Superbike race team’s clothing range proving particularly popular. Two winners have been chosen at random and congratulations go to Mr Gordon Bee and Mr Ben Stone.
Voltcom Crescent Suzuki has now returned to the business at hand, as round eight of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship gets underway at Portimao, in Portugal, with the opening free practice session at 11:45BST on Friday 4th July.
Paul Denning – Team Manager:
“The Festival of Speed never fails to surprise and amaze, and this year’s event was bigger and better than ever. It is a privilege to be involved and to see and hear the world’s largest variety of contemporary and classic race bikes and cars together in one place.
“Thanks to Goodwood for having us and to Rossetts for letting us litter their amazing Mercedes Commercial Vehicle stand with Crescent’s latest bikes!”
