The start of the first AMA Superbike practice session at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was delayed, and shortened from 40 to 30 minutes, due to continuing attempts to dry the track. Even then, the track was not 100% dry, according to riders, resulting in lap times being about two seconds slower than they should be on race tires at this point of the weekend. The track has significant problems with water coming up through cracks and holes in the pavement in at least seven different locations. A significant leak is in turn one, where a piece of pavement broke loose with water welling up around it. Provisional Friday Morning AMA Superbike Practice Times: 1. Mat Mladin, Suzuki, 1:28.330 2.
