Show Us Your Rides, Part 42: Al Myers

© 2015, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

This off-season we’re running a series showing your motorcycles, starting with your racebike or track-day bike. But not just your road racing or track-day bike, but also your streetbike, motocross bike, dirt bike, pit bike, mini bike, trials bike, land-speed bike, drag bike, speedway bike, whatever you’ve got. If you have more than one bike, send photos of them all–alone or with you! Include your city, state and a few facts about what you do. Send in-focus bike photos (as jpeg files) along with the make, model and year of each bike and your name, age, racing or track-day organization (if applicable), city and state, plus the name of the photographer, to [email protected]. By sending us the photos, you are certifying that you own the rights to the photos and are giving us permission to feature them on roadracingworld.com. They may be posted on roadracingworld.com during slow news days.

Many more riders have sent in photos and info than we anticipated, and to deal with the flood of applications, we’re giving preference to people who have set up a rider profile on roadracingworld.com, here: https://www.roadracingworld.com/signup/

Seen here in our 42nd installment are photos sent in by Al Myers, age 37, of New Baltimore, Michigan, who writes, “I would like to submit my pics for a chance to be featured! We are a big motorcycle-loving family in our house! We cheer for Lorenzo on Sunday and do track days with Sportbike Track Time (STT). I’m lucky enough to have a wife who loves bikes as much as I do and allows me to have them and head off with my buddies at redlinesuperbike.com for some spirited rides or one of our local bike nights. She has her learners’ (permit) and takes them for a spin once in a while but I’m still working on her to do the all-ladies track days that STT offers. I have been lucky enough through the Air Force and my traveling to ride some amazing roads and meet other like-minded people! My favorite place has to be Mulholland Highway (in California) and Suches, Georgia (close to where I’m from). You did a small article on Tanacross Racing in Alaska back in 2002 while I was stationed there; I raced with the racing lions and that track will go down in the books as the most scariest, exciting place I’ve ever ridden!

“Picture description should be in order: 2007 GSX-R600 track bike at Grattan Raceway, Michigan. The picture is coming over the hump CCW at Grattan, what an awesome feeling!

“2014 KTM Super Duke R–the ‘Beast’–just had to track it and this has to be one of the craziest, fun bikes I have ever owned! Photo by Joseph Hansen owner of ElectricEyeImages.com one of the best track-side photographers in the biz.

“2008 MV Agusta F4 312R. Heading to the Barber Museum from an annual MV Agusta meet called the Bubbalicious in Cartersville, Georgia. We were caught in the rain! Photo by Ade Critten of Isle of Man, UK. This meet has people from all over the US and as far as New Zealand, Australia, UK and Isle of Man attend. One of the coolest meets with some of the hottest bikes on the planet!

“2008 Victory Hammer S. A great bike to head to Sturgis or to pound the horrible flat roads in Michigan!”

In the Bio section of his rider profile on roadracingworld.com, Myers posted, “Currently serving in the Air National Guard and close to retiring. I am a fairly busy guy! Just started back to college, do multiple track days in the summer with STT, play coed softball, golf league, boating, and all the motorcycle time I can get street riding or watching racing on TV. I love being my 10-year-old’s biggest fan. watching him play sports and now becoming a Boy Scout. There is no rest in my house and I wouldn’t change it!”

In the Style section of his rider profile, Myers posted, “Spirited riding style and relaxed track-day rider.”
