Show Us Your Rides, Part 45: Craig “Huey” Stewart

This off-season we’re running a series showing your motorcycles, starting with your racebike or track-day bike. But not just your road racing or track-day bike, but also your streetbike, motocross bike, dirt bike, pit bike, mini bike, trials bike, land-speed bike, drag bike, speedway bike, whatever you’ve got. If you have more than one bike, send photos of them all–alone or with you! Include your city, state and a few facts about what you do. Send in-focus bike photos (as jpeg files) along with the make, model and year of each bike and your name, age, racing or track-day organization (if applicable), city and state, plus the name of the photographer, to [email protected]. By sending us the photos, you are certifying that you own the rights to the photos and are giving us permission to feature them on roadracingworld.com. They may be posted on roadracingworld.com during slow news days.

Many more riders have sent in photos and info than we anticipated, and to deal with the flood of applications, we’re giving preference to people who have set up a rider profile on roadracingworld.com, here: https://www.roadracingworld.com/signup/

Seen here in our 45th installment are photos sent in by WERA racer Craig “Huey” Stewart, age 45, from Marietta, Georgia, who runs Marietta Motorsports and earned his nickname because he’s a big, friendly guy like the cartoon character of the same name. In the Bio section of his rider profile on roadracingworld.com, Huey posted, “I’m the owner of Marietta Motorsports, a speed, performance, maintenance and tuning shop in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been crew-chief to riders in WERA, AMA Pro, Isle of Man and Macau GP. Sometimes I get to go to the other end of the wrench and get some racing in myself.” In the Style section of his rider profile, Huey posted, “Slow and steady usually loses the race…until the highside.”

Huey is an Air Force Reserve veteran (serving full-time for 14 years) and owns a dog named Affe, which he says is German for “monkey.” He’s also been known to fly camera-equipped drones during his time off.

Asked about the Patriot Guard Riders-themed bike, Huey writes, “The Patriot Guard asked me to join them because I’m a vet and I work on a lot of their bikes. I told them there’s no way I was strong enough to do what they did. So I invited the entire Georgia chapter to a WERA race at Road Atlanta in 2013, painted up my bike, got a tent and food donated, and then raced for them! PLUS they got to ride a lap with their flags flying during the National Anthem.”
