WSMC will host the Sidecar Racing Association’s final race for 2009 at Willow Springs Raceway on Oct. 17-18. For the first time in the history of the West Coast Sidecar Racing Association there is only one point that seperates the leaders coming into the final round. Former champion Bill Becker enters the weekend with 349 points. Currently sitting in second place is Isle of man TT veteran Wade Boyd with 348 points. Wade Boyd’s consistancy this season has already secured his passenger, Christine Blunck with a Passenger’s 1st place for the 2009 season. Earlier in the season Becker and Boyd faced off in five events at Willow Springs Raceway resulting in Boyd gathering 172 points to Becker’s 153 points.
