Silverstone, The Home of British Motor Racing, has confirmed its 2011 calendar of events, offering the very best action from both two and four wheeled motor sport. This year also sees the launch of the new ‘Silverstone Wing’, the circuit’s state-of-the-art Pit and Paddock complex, on 17 May. The ‘Silverstone Wing’ will play host to most of the circuit’s major events in 2011, including the FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX and the AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP). Highlights of the 2011 season include: 3 5 June Silverstone Supercar featuring FIA GT1 World Championship Prices Advance tickets from £13* Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The FIA GT1 World Championship, featuring the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy, will be the first international event to run out of The Silverstone Wing. 10 12 June AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP) Prices Advance tickets from £16** Circuit Grand Prix Circuit MotoGP returns to Silverstone for 2011 with Cal Cruchtlow leading the British challenge against the world’s most talented riders, including Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner. Britain is also represented by seven riders in the Moto2 and 125cc classes. 8-10 July FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX Prices Advance tickets from £55** Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The UK’s premier motor sport event returns to the UK’s premier motor racing circuit. 2011 will see three British drivers line up on the grid, with Paul Di Resta joining former World Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. 22-24 July Silverstone Classic Prices See below*** Circuit Grand Prix Circuit One of Europe’s most prestigious classic motor racing events, the Silverstone Classic will be celebrating 50 years of the Jaguar E-Type in 2011. 29-31 July FIM Superbike World Championship Prices Advance tickets from £20* Circuit Grand Prix Circuit Britain’s round of the SBK Championship – with five British riders on the 2011 grid, hopes will be high for a repeat of last year’s two all-British podiums. 20-21 August World Series by Renault Prices See below*** Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The UK’s only round of World Series by Renault with 3.2 million spectators since it began in 2005, the World Series is a unique sporting event comprising of three world championships. 9-11 September 6 Hours of Silverstone (Le Mans Series) Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The stars and cars from the 24 Hours of Le Mans compete in a six hour race at Silverstone, as part of the Le Mans Series. 23-25 September MCE British Superbike Championship, in association with Pirelli Prices Advance tickets from £17* Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The nation’s top riders take on the famous straights and corners at Silverstone for the penultimate round of the fiercely contested championship. 30 Sept 2 October Britcar 24hr at Silverstone Circuit Grand Prix Circuit Silverstone plays host to the one of the UK’s only 24 hour races, testing the endurance and durability of both man and machine. 8-9 October British F3/GT Championships Prices Advance tickets from £12* Circuit Grand Prix Circuit The Cooper Tires British F3 International Series and Avon Tyres British GT Championship, where highly competitive racing categories showcase the very best of the nation’s young racing talent. 14-16 October DUNLOP MSA British Touring Car Championship Prices Advance tickets from £17* Circuit National Circuit The premier national tin top series never fails to provide plenty of on-track action and close racing. In 2011, Silverstone will host the title-deciding final round of the championship. 4-6 November Walter Hayes Trophy Prices Advance tickets from £10* Circuit International Circuit One of the world’s greatest Formula Ford 1600 events – The Walter Hayes Trophy attracts more than 150 cars, piloted by both established and young drivers.
