Waukesha, WI (September 14, 2007) – James Gang/Hoban Brothers Racing has recruited veteran Buell racer Walt Sipp to join regular team riders Paul James and Jeff Johnson for the MOTO-ST SunTrust 8 Hours at Daytona season finale on October 19-20, 2007.

“Walt is a great addition to our team. He’s got years of Buell racing experience and a lot of seat time at Daytona,” said team owner and rider Paul James. “We finished on the box at the first two MOTO-ST races at Daytona, but we need to win this one in order to have a shot at the Grand Sport Twins championship.”

James Gang Racing placed its Buell Firebolt XB12R on the Grand Sport Twins (GST) podium at both the inaugural MOTO-ST 8 hours at Daytona in October 2006 and at the 2007 season opening Daytona USA 300 in March. James Gang and Hoban Brothers joined forces in February for the rest of the MOTO-ST season and a second place finish at Road America along with a class win at Iowa Speedway have kept the team in contention for the GST title.

Further momentum was provided when the team took the GT Lights class win and placed second overall in the ASRA Team Challenge endurance race held at Blackhawk Farms in August while testing new components and set ups.

“We’re third in points going into the 8 hour race at Daytona,” said team rider Jeff Johnson. “Anything can happen in 8 hours at Daytona. No matter what, it’s going to be exciting.”

In addition to racers James, Johnson and Sipp, the James Gang/Hoban Brothers team for the SunTrust 8 Hours at Daytona will include crew chief Mike Kirkpatrick, tuner John Dahmer and crew members Nancy Birkenstock, Jim Hesketh, Amy James and Nick Rotvold.
