CCS Florida/Southeast JenningsGP Jennings, Florida September 9, 2007 Dwyer Takes First at Jennings by Lisa Theobald Sean Dwyer was the winningest racer of the weekend at Jennings GP during the CCS Florida regional event with a whopping six first-place finishes. After taking the lead, he simply dominated his classes, including the highly competitive Unlimited Grand Prix, better known as The Shootout. Dwyer’s first-place finish in the Shootout marked his first time on the top of the box for the class. It was a weekend of victories that almost didn’t happen. During practice sessions on Friday, Dwyer’s motor gave out on his “A bike.” So, he set off to Jacksonville to work on the bike, but it continued to fight him. Not willing to give up, he set off on an even bigger mission and sent his wife to the dealership in West Palm Beach to get a brand new R6, which she brought to the track, still in the crate. They pulled the motor out of the new bike and dropped it in his old chassis and he went on to take first place in six of his seven classes. Dwyer won the GTU, Heavyweight Supersport, Middleweight Superbike, Heavyweight Superbike, Middleweight Grand Prix, and Unlimited Grand Prix races and finished second to Greg Melka in Middleweight Supersport. At the end of the weekend, he declared, “It’s amazing! I’ve got to give all the glory to God. That wasn’t me riding today. It was just like, man, that was awesome!” He went on to thank his crew. Garrett Rick and Steve Wenner tied for second-winningest Expert of the weekend with three first-place finishes each. Rick won the Supertwins, Lightweight Superbike, and Thunderbike classes. And Wenner won the GT Lights, 125 Grand Prix, and Lightweight Grand Prix events. UNLIMITED GRAND PRIX RESULTS: 1. Sean Dwyer (Yam YZF-R6); 2. Marco Martinez (Yam YZF-R6); 3.
