Six hours remain in the online auctions of five over-sized promotional cover replicas of the August 2009 issue of Roadracing World & Motorcycle Technology magazine (www.roadracingworld.com) that have been autographed by six-time and defending MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi and his Fiat Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Roadracing World Action Fund. Each auction has multiple bidders and watchers (some more than others), over 1000 potential buyers have visited the auctions and the high bid for each cover ranges from $265.00 to $309.44, as of Monday morning. Each cover displays an action photo of Rossi and Lorenzo racing to a spectacular finish at this year’s terrific Gran Prix at Catalunya, in Spain. Each rider signed near their photo on each cover. All five covers are essentially identical. The autographs were arranged with the help of Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A. at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix July 3-5 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The covers are full-color gloss poster stock paper attached to foam board. They can be framed, but they are not being sold framed. They measure 30 inches tall by 24 inches wide and about 3/8 inch thick. The amount paid for these covers may be tax-deductible in the United States.
