With green grass and sunny skies shining, the newly formed Skylark Bar Racing Team rolled out the GSX-R1000 Superbike purchased from Team Hammer, which included special pricing and a decent spares package specifically because Team Hammer owner John Ulrich wanted to support his long-time friend Chuck Sorensen’s return to racing.

“Team Hammer constructed a very competitive motorcycle and we are happy to have this as our platform,” said Steve Engelbrecht owner of the SkyLark Bar and Race Team.

The bike which is piloted by three-time AMA Pro 250cc GP Champion Chuck Sorensen took to Thunderhill Raceway Park on March 16-17 and right off the line Chuck was up to speed within a few laps.

“I was surprised at the speed and how user friendly this motorcycle was. After being off of a real race bike for six-seven years I didn’t expect for the lap times to come that easy,” Sorensen said.

Team Skylark Bar Racing will test a few more times before the first race at [Sonoma Raceway] in early May.
