South African Clinton Seller will ride the #13 Markbilt Racing Yamaha R6 at the final round of AMA Pro Road Racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park on September 5th and 6th. Regular rider Melissa Paris suffered a broken leg at the last round of competition at VIR and is unable to compete. Twenty-one-year-old Seller normally competes in the South African Superbike Championship. He is currently third in points in that series. This will be Seller’s debut AMA race and he hopes to make an impression, “I’ve really been looking forward to the opportunity to ride in the USA and when this ride came up I grabbed it with both hands. Although the circumstances of Melissa breaking her leg are not ideal, I’m really excited about the ride. While the pace in South Africa is pretty competitive, it will be really good to mix it up with the guys is the USA. Hopefully this ride will be the start of many more to come.” Said Paris about the fill in ride, “Obviously it’s always a bummer to sit out a race and especially to have someone else on your ride, but at the same time Clint is really cool, and I know he’s been hoping to race in the US all year. So in that way, it works out. Besides that we have a commitment to our sponsors to have the bike on the grid, and after all the support they’ve shown me this year, I don’t want to let them down. Right now I’m just trying to focus on healing quickly so that I can continue to chase the 250GP championship. I’m excited to see how Clint fares!” Markbilt Racing would like to thank all of their sponsors, Yamaha, GYTR, Pirelli, Leo Vince, Pit Bull, HelpMeRide.com, Motorcycle Mall, Factory Bodyworks, and Zero Gravity for their continued support.
