Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing Announces its 2019 Rider Line Up
Manteca, CA: March 6, 2019 Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing, the industry leader in high performance and service of all lightweight sport twin motorcycles is excited to announce they have joined forces with racers Nikolas Thompson and Christjan Larsen, both from California
2019 will see these riders competing in the full season of American Federation of Motorcyclist (AFM). Additionally, Nikolas will be competing in select MotoAmerica Liqui Moly Junior Cup rounds on the West Coast. Both young men will be competing on their Spears Racing Prepped 2019 Kawasaki 400 and 2019 Yamaha R3 to show case their previous AFM and WERA Championships.
Nik and Christjan are amazing young men with a lot of dedication, talent and energy to become podium contenders each race weekend. This being the first time I have ever worked with Nik and Christjan, I have seen their confidence and passion for racing whether it is Road Racing, Cross Country Racing or High School sports. Both these young men will continue to grow as racers, said Gregg Spears, owner of Spears Enterprises.
About Nik
With a successful background in racing Cross Country with the American Motorcyclists Association’s (AMA) District 36, Nikolas Thompson (from Rohnert Park, Ca.) began transitioning to road racing in 2016 by running Supermoto USA. In 2017, Nik began training on the big tracks throughout California and in his first year of roadracing in the novice class, Nikolas earned three podium positions in AFM’s 2018 Championship series. “My first year of road racing was more difficult than I anticipated”, says Nikolas. “My thoughts were divided between racing and my concern for my Mother who was diagnosed with Cancer at the beginning of the racing season”. With major improvements to her health, Nikolas is looking forward to getting back to a more focused and intense year of training and racing. “I am excited to be a part of such a great team Spears Racing this year. I could not have hoped for better support in my first year of getting my feet wet in racing at the expert and pro level”, says Nikolas, who turns 15 this month.
About Christjan:
Christjan Larsen is a 15-year-old freshman at Del Oro High School and hails from Granite Bay, California. This is Christjan’s third year of road racing, although he has been riding on and off-road for six years. Christjan is an accomplished multi-sport athlete and has received accolades in football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, as well as track & field. Additionally, he has been an honor-roll student and enjoys being with family and friends. As the WERA Lucas Oil West E Superstock Novice Champion, Christjan is very excited to be a part of the Spears Racing family and has dedicated himself to the pursuit of excellence on and off the track.
