Special Guests Scheduled To Appear At Ducati Revs Alabama

Hall of fame racers and tuners and a representative from the engineering firm that planned the Barber Motorsports Park campus are among the special guests Winchendon, MA (Aug 26, 2011) The inaugural Ducati Revs Alabama event on October 10, 2011 at Barber Motorsports Park will feature hall of fame members Cook Neilson, Paul Smart, Phil Schilling, Eraldo Ferracci and Bruce Meyers. Engineer, Bill St. John whose firm provided civil engineering and design for the Barber Motorsports complex, will also be joining the team sharing his in-depth knowledge of the facility. Ducati icons Cook Nielson, Paul Smart and Phil Schilling will be featured in a lunch time Q & A that will be hosted by school founder, Jerry Wood. Jerry Wood witnessed first-hand Cook’s celebrated Daytona Superbike win on a Phil Schilling-tuned Ducati 750 Supersport as he was a fellow Daytona competitor. The Daytona victory and Paul Smart’s 1972 Imola 200 win are very significant events in Ducati’s racing history. To honor the Imola victory Ducati introduced the Paul Smart 1000 Limited Edition into their Sport Classic lineup in 2006. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with Paul, Phil and Cook throughout the day as they will be taking part in various Ducati Revs activities. Hall of fame tuner, Bruce Meyers, will be presenting “Ducati electronics” and “easy track day set up” in special Ducati Revs Alabama classroom sessions. Bruce is the President of Meyers Performance, Inc., a NH based company specializing in Ducati engine modifications for track/racing applications. Meyers Performance is also the technical training partner of Ducati North America. Bill St. John, principal at St. John & Associates, Inc., will provide a unique perspective of the track layout during the schools’ track walk. Bill’s in depth knowledge of the Barber Motorsports complex design will also be shared at a lunch time Q & A. St. John and Associates provided civil engineering and design for the Barber Motorsports Park campus. The firm was originally tasked to design a motorsports park complex including the race track, the museum, a lake, and other development within the magnificent 700 acre Barber complex. Their work helped produced a truly world class motorsports facility. Additional distinguished guests include Eraldo Ferracci and Celtic Racing, Mike Himmelsbach of Penske Racing Shocks and industry vendors Dunlop, Vanson Leathers and Street and Competition. Finally, motorsports photographer, Bob Hartman, will be shooting the event for those who would like to capture their Ducati Revs Alabama experience on film. The Ducati Revs events are limited attendance events that are in high demand as this year’s events in New Jersey and New Hampshire were sold out.
