Z² Track Days announces a special sprint and endurance event at Reno-Fernley Raceway Aug. 22-24. RENO, NV – Z² Track Days announced today their participation in the “Super Cycle 08″ event to be held at Reno-Fernley Raceway in Fernley, Nevada. “Super Cycle 08″ is a unique, first of its kind, motorcycle competition event in Northern Nevada. The event brings together Z² Track Days, USGPRU and Supermoto USA to hold an event that has something for every style of 2-wheel pavement competition. “In an effort to bring special elements of International racing to the local level, Z² Track Days has established this special proof-of-concept experience,” said Shawn Reilly, President of Z² Track Days. “Z² has created 4 sprint classes and a distinctive 250k Endurance Race on a specially designed 2.2 mile version of the tricky Reno-Fernley race course. In addition to the sprint and endurance classes, we will host the 6th round of the USGPRU West Coast region championship. We expect this unique combination to attract racers from all over.” The 2008 USGPRU race will be unique as it will offer a double round of the MD250H championship with a $10,000 purse for each leg — a total of $20,000 in contingency. Sunday will also include a Novice only race for newer racers. The weekend will culminate with the 250k Endurance Race, which will test stamina on this ultra-tight, technical course favoring set-up as opposed to outright horse power. The participants of the 250k Team Race will take part in a special “Super-pole” qualifying on Saturday and a “LeMans” style start on Sunday. “Super Cycle 08″ will also be the first known race event to introduce a revolutionary new timing technology using RF-id tracking tags. TITAN RFID has a developed an alternative solution to the bulky and expensive timing systems currently being used.
