The future of two-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies is bright, but it is far from clear. After he qualified on the provisional AMA Superbike pole position Friday at Road Atlanta, Spies was asked for the status of his 2009 plans. “I don’t know,” said Spies. “There’s a few deals that are being worked and being talked about in almost, I think, every series [MotoGP, World Superbike and AMA]. But it’s just one of those deals. We don’t know yet. I have no clue. Just working on anything that’s good. “I’ve obviously been happy with Suzuki. I don’t know what their plans are to race in the U.S. yet. And there’s still a couple of things going on over the pond. I’ve just kind of been instructed not to say anything.”
