CLINTON, MI (February 9, 2021) — Sportbike Track Time is proud to celebrate 20 years in the track day industry!  Founded in 2001 by Monte Lutz and Bonnie Strawser, STT started at Grattan Raceway as a way for motorcycle enthusiasts to get on the track without necessarily requiring a race license.  The company quickly expanded to include tracks such as Autobahn Country Club, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, and Talladega Gran Prix Raceway, among others.  In 2010, Richard and Julie Harris bought the company to continue the success when Monte & Bonnie retired to Utah.  Since then, STT has grown to be one of the largest track day organizations in the country.

Here are some fast facts about Sportbike Track Time:

Well over 100 days each year between February and December

STT attends 11 tracks in 8 states (and always adding more as needed!)

STT can accommodate young riders down to age 11 years

STT offers race certificate classes in conjunction with WERA, CCS, and AHRMA

STT’s Novice program was the first of its kind incorporating both in-classroom and on-track instruction

 

Facts about Sportbike Track Time’s nearly 200 staff members:

Over 75 have at least 5 years of experience

Another 75 have at least 10 years of experience

And, another 20 have been with STT for all 20 years!

More than half of Sportbike Track Time’s staff started as customers over 10 years ago!

Collectively STT’s staff has thousands of track days’ worth of experience with millions of on-track miles!

2021 marks another anniversary; Sportbike Track Girl is celebrating 10 years of Ladies First events at Grattan Raceway and Talladega Gran Prix Raceway! Historically starting as Femmoto (founded by Bonnie Strawser in 2002) which offered women-only events through 2008, it lives on through STGirl supporting women riders of all skill levels.  Sportbike Track Girl is committed to advocating, educating, and supporting women in the sport.
